Ritratt: The Dark Side of the Moon

epa04873833 A handout picture released by NASA on 06 August 2015 and taken on 16 July 2015 shows a unique view of the Moon as it passed between the spacecraft and Earth taken by a camera on the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR). A series of images shows the fully illuminated 'dark side' of the Moon that is not visible from Earth. The images were acquired by NASA?s Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC), a four megapixel CCD camera and telescope on the DSCOVR satellite, which orbits about 1.6 million kilometers (one million miles) from Earth. EPIC maintains a constant view of the fully illuminated Earth as it rotates, providing daily scientific observations of ozone, vegetation, cloud height, and airborne aerosols. About twice a year the camera will capture images of the Moon and Earth together as the orbit of DSCOVR crosses the orbital plane of the Moon. EPA/NASA / DSCOVR - EPIC HANDOUT EDITORIAL USE ONLY

Kien l-isem ta’ album popolari tal-grupp Pink Floyd imma issa wieħed jista’ jara verament xi tfisser “the dark side of the moon”….ritratt maħruġ min-NASA juri dehra unika tal-Qamar hekk kif għadda bejn id-Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR), vettura spazjali tan-NASA, u d-dinja. Il-camera li ntużat hi dik magħrufa bħala l-Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC) minn distanza ta’ 1.6 miljun kilometru mid-dinja.
