1 year, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8760 hours; out of which, how many did you actually live? I have a habit of quoting different books or articles however today I shall be quoting a rather different, albeit popular source; Pink Floyd. The legendary rock band that inspired a generation and is still regarded as one of the best bands of all time. Pink Floyd in their song The Dark Side of the moon famously said the following verses;
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the staring gun
Those golden verses are a chilling reminder, an eye opener. This time of the year more than other days those verses should serve as a reminder that we are always running down a clock. We are constantly moving ahead in life and no matter what happens, the sun will always rise in the morning and in the evening it will go back down again. The only difference is you, the only difference is, have you done you bit? Have you fulfilled your presence for that day? At this time of the year it would be wise if we all reflect back over the last 12 months and get stock of what we did. Did we move forward in our goals and objectives? Did we succeed in our targets? Did we fail? Did we hurt anyone? Overall, does the pros outweighs the cons? That’s a question which we should all answer for ourselves thus I will let each and everyone of you to do a little bit of soul searching.
I have been actively involved in politics since the latter part of 2012, however 2015 has been my first full year as general election candidate. That means that this year has been my first year of being actively representing the values of the Partit Nazzjonalista in my day to day life. Over the last 12 months I had the opportunity to meet many families during house visits, I didn’t keep an exact amount however on a rough calculation I must have entered the homes of over 500 families. That’s apart from the hundreds of hours on the phone and thousands of email and Facebook conversations.
Yet again, if I had to add all the hours I have given to be of service, still I believe that it’s not enough. There are so many people out there that deserve attention, so many people that have been wronged and deserve justice, so many people that are truly suffering the qualms of poverty that deserve to be helped; if only it is humanly possible I would dedicate all my time and energy to be a full time politician. That way I can use this calling to be of service to those that need it most at all time. When I see the effort that Simon Busuttil puts in his call of duty, his stamina, his strength, his energy and his positiveness; one immediately notices that this guys is truly doing all that is humanly possible to be of service to the Partit Nazzjonalista and to all the Maltese people. That same energy is the driving force that guides me and my many colleagues in our quest to be of service to everyone.
My goal for 2015 is a very simple one. The goal is to follow unconditionally the guidance of Simon Busuttil and to try to be as available to everyone as he is. If all the PN Team follows Simon Busuttil’s guidance, we can only continue to reap the benefits that we are only reaping. Deep down we know that we are on the right track, deep down we know that Team PN is making shockwaves in the Maltese political spectrum, shockwaves that were measly promised by Joseph Muscat and are currently being lived day in day out by Simon Busuttil.
I am proud to be following a leader that is genuinely a fresh, honest and a brave man. A political that is heading towards the history books as the leader that truly changed the face of politics in this beautiful island of ours. With the way Simon Busuttil is leading the Partit Nazzjonalista he stands a good chance that he will be the next Prime Minister of Malta and 2016 will prove to be a very important year in Simon Busuttil’s political career as he has the opportunity to continue growing his stature while continuing to the best leader of opposition this country has ever seen.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and all your families a very prosperous, loving and most of all healthy forthcoming year. May at the end of every day, you’ll end up one step further towards reaching your goals.
