Front Favur Il-Mina, in a statement reacted to the motion regarding the Malta-Gozo tunnel project presented in parliament which recognizes the importance and intent to undertake, commission and publish all studies and impact assessments as part of the planning application exercise.
Front Favur il-Mina appealed to all Members of Parliament to support this motion unreservedly given that they all have a mandate to enact this very much needed project. “We draw attention to the fact that this project was outlined and supported in all electoral manifestos by which the current MPs were elected”.
Moreover, the Front notes the intention to provide free public transport through the tunnel whilst keeping its options open regarding the possibility of mass transport.
The Front firmly believes that the way forward is to implement this project in the national interest.
