Muscat not ready to publish Corinthia agreement before the elections

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, like Konrad Mizzi, is not ready to publish the Corinthia deal before the elections, which are taking place in May. This was confirmed by Muscat during a visit at Aurobindo in Ħal Far, when questioned by Net News.

Just after Christmas, Minister Konrad Mizzi tabled the Corinthia agreement in Parliament, but this was blocked by the Nationalist Opposition noting that public land was being sold at a low valuation, giving back to the public far less than desired, noting that the land was to be developed for private gains and not solely for tourism purposes.

Il-Mument continued to reveal the tactics being used by Minister Konrad Mizzi. In fact, Net News has questioned Mizzi if the Corinthia deal will be published before the MEP elections, but he holds the same position as Muscat.

We have to wait and see whether Minister Mizzi will repeat the same tactic used in Christmas: tabling the agreement in Parliament at a late stage so that time for discussion will be limited by the closing of Parliament for the summer period.
