A plan is necessary to maximise opportunities – Adrian Delia

During the Parliamentary session on Monday, Members of Parliament discussed the ongoing situation in the United Kingdom with regards to Brexit.

Speaking during the session, the Leader of the Opposition Adrian Delia said that whilst we must be aware of the challenges, one must also prepared for the opportunities resulting from Brexit. This is how local entrepreneurs are preparing to understand the impact Brexit will have on the economy.

Adrian Delia said it is important that Government presents a plan to assist Maltese businesses prepare for this.

The Leader of the Opposition said that having a concrete plan would increase the chances of maximizing the opportunities in this situation.

Adrian Delia mentioned the fact that the haphazard exit of the UK from the European Union will affect a number of sectors, including the property market, higher education, health care, customs and the Armed Forces.

The Leader of the Opposition asked what plans the Government are and which sectors have been identified as a priority.

The Prime Minister spoke about the meeting of the European Council, which confirmed that the deal that the United Kingdom made with the EU will not change, however Theresa May is still in time to revoke Article 50.
