Manfred Weber, who is the Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, will address at the PN’s Extraordinary General Council on Sunday.
Weber is also the EPP’s Spitzenkandidat for the upcoming elections in May. He was elected as the EPP’s lead candidate to succeed Jean Claude Juncker as President of the European Commission, during the Party’s Congress held in Helsinki last November, where he also had the unanimous support of the PN.
At the last EPP summit, Manfred Weber congratulated Adrian Delia for reaffirming the EPPs pro-life values. This is firmly in contrast to the European Socialists, who clearly reference abortion in their electoral manifesto.
Following the European Parliament elections in May, the Spitzenkandidat of the largest group in the Parliament would then have a mandate to assume the Presidency of the Commission.
The PN’s Extraordinary General council will convene on Sunday morning and will be broadcast live on NET TV, NET FM and Facebook.
