Sant chants “an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth” mantra again!

Sant repeats this violent and savage mantra

The Socialist Party has time-looped back to the 80s with its old “eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth” mantra. The former Leader of the Labour Party Alfred Sant said this during the Socialist Party’s Annual General Conference in Sannat. Sant who is one of Muscat’s pet favourites, insisted that now is the time to go back to the old mantra, which for a long time was associated with the confrontational politics of the Labour Party, the same party that today is in power.

Sant went on for most of his speech criticising PN’s three MEPs, and this is when he insisted that “for the time being, we must go back to the old strong mantra – a tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye”.

This move was surely planned by the Socialist Party, so much so that Sant repeated it twice in his speech. When he repeated the mantra, he even admitted that it “sounds violent and savage”.

During his speech at Sannat, Alfred Sant also reminded his audience about his Partnership campaign. To everybody’s surprise, he went on to say how everyone remembers that he campaigned both “in favour and against the EU”.

Whilst concluding, Sant urged Labour supporters to do their utmost for the Socialist Party in Malta to elect 5 out of 6 seats.
