The PN remains strongest advocate of everything that makes us Maltese – Adrian Delia

PN is Malta’s pro-Europe party

The PN was, is and will remain the strongest advocate of everything that makes us Maltese and Europeans – The Leader of the Opposition Adrian Delia said this during his concluding speech of PN’s extraordinary General Council, during which the Electoral Manifesto for the European Parliament elections was approved. He said the PN created a European vision for our country, whilst Europe, like Local Councils, was never a “super-favourite” for the Socialist Party.

Adrian Delia said that the Socialist Government seized the country’s institutions and is completely ignoring recommendations made by international bodies, risking the country being black-listed and further risking negatively affecting investment. The Government ruined the country’s reputation and is also risking important economic sectors, such as the financial services industry.

The Leader of the Opposition said that every time the Socialist Governemnt boasts of a surplus, it is ignoring the concerns and struggles of those who are vulnerable and victims of cheap labour, the middle class whose not managing to make ends meet and the elderly whose pensions are insufficient for their basic needs. It is also ignoring businesses which are facing difficulties because the Government consistently favours the preferred-few.

He said that the Socialist Party approved a manifesto which includes a reference to pro-choice, whilst the PN remains resolute to defend the rights of the unborn child.

Adrian Delia said that it is now clear that the Socialist Party’s campaign mantra is “an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth”. However on the other hand, the PN’s politics will be about hope, not hate, because it believes in our country and the capabilities of the people of Malta and Gozo.

Delia also said that the PN will continue focusing on the people’s concerns and has already announced a number of concrete proposals. The PN is putting forward the best candidates in this election to represent the Maltese within the European Peoples Party, which is the biggest group in the European Parliament.
