Konrad Mizzi continues to deny well-known truth

More than a week after the Courts ruled that there are enough facts suggesting that a criminal act indeed happened, Minister Mizzi continues to ignore several calls to suspend himself pending the completion of the Panama Papers inquiry.

Minister Mizzi, who has no shame in aiming to be Malta’s next Prime Minister, continues to insist that the he is not in fact part of the inquiry.

Asked about the addition of two new members to the board at Air Malta, Konrad Mizzi said it was a necessary move. The two new directorys are Ian Castaldi Paris, the Chairman of Identity Malta, and Ronald Mizzi, the Permanent Secretary within Mizzi’s Ministry. The cost of directors at Air Malta has more than doubled: from €53,000 to €113,000.

Mizzi said that the two additional directors will ensure good governance, so the increase in costs is therefore justified.

This is ironically happening despite the Air Malta Chairman, Charles Mangion saying that the airline is still not free of its financial struggles.
